Discover the area

Just a stone's throw from the "Grand Hôtel du Midi Montpellier - Opéra Comédie", start your visit of the "Écusson" with the Place de la Comédie and the Fountain of the Three Graces. This square is one of the largest pedestrian areas in Europe and is home to numerous cafés and restaurants. An ideal place to stroll and enjoy the sun! The Place de la Comédie is a perfect starting point for walking through the medieval streets of the old town. You can then discover the Arc de Triomphe, the Tour de la Babotte, the last vestige of the city's fortifications, and the Porte du Peyrou. Then enjoy the Peyrou promenade, a park on two levels, the highest point of the city, which offers a breathtaking view of the Cévennes and the sea. You can also admire the Saint-Clément aqueduct dating from the 18th century.

Today it houses many varieties of plants, an orangery, a vegetable garden, a tropical greenhouse and even a wishing tree!

For art lovers, visit the Fabre Museum, Montpellier's Fine Arts Museum, whose permanent collection houses a large number of Western works dating from the 14th to the 21st century. You can also visit the Pavillon Populaire, which hosts photo exhibitions, and the contemporary art centre La Panacée.
